What is the Missoula MLS?
Someone who is interested in selling a home usually works with a Real Estate agent or Broken to get their home listed.
Besides getting expert advice on how to prepare your home, and what price you should ask, a Real Estate company can get your home listed on the MLS, or Multiple Listing Service.
Once listed here, your home begins to show up on many websites, not just in the listings of your chosen agent.
If you are shopping for a new home, the site you are using will list most of the homes available for sale, even if they are not being sold through that agent. The actual listing agent (who the seller is using to sell the home) is found near the bottom of the listing.
The homes for sale in a particular area are pushed out to these various websites through something called an IDX. While this is pretty technical, it’s good enough to understand that you should pick the agent you work with based on their experience and reputation. Most agents and brokers have full access to all the homes on the market.
In the Missoula area, the MLS is managed by the Missoula Organization of Realtors.
